Wiper ("the app", "we", "us") is an on-device photo and storage cleaner published by AZIEL. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: Wiper processes everything on your device and does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or your photos.

What the App Accesses, and Why

To find duplicates, similar shots, blurry photos, and large videos, Wiper needs to read your photo and video library. It requests the standard Android system permissions:

• Photos & Videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED on Android 13+, or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android) — used only to read your media so it can be analyzed on your device. You can grant access to all photos or only a selected subset; the app works with whatever you allow.

All analysis—including duplicate detection (SHA-256 hashing), similarity comparison, and blur scoring—is performed entirely on your device. Your images are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

Deleting Photos

When you choose to remove photos, Wiper moves them to your device's System Trash / Recently Deleted, where they remain recoverable for approximately 30 days before your operating system permanently deletes them. Wiper does not permanently erase files itself; the operating system handles final deletion. You are responsible for reviewing what you choose to remove.

Data Stored on Your Device

Wiper stores a small amount of data locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted.

• App settings and counters (such as onboarding completion and total space freed) using the device's local preferences.
• A local scan cache stored in the app's private storage to make future scans faster.

Uninstalling the app removes this local data. We never have access to it.

Network Usage

Wiper makes one type of network request: it checks the latest published version number of the app from a public web page so it can notify you when an update is available.

• No personal data, photos, or files are sent.
• Only a small public text value (the current version number) is downloaded.
• The app otherwise functions completely offline.

None. We do not collect, sell, share, or transmit any personal information, usage data, or media.

Children's Privacy

Wiper is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
